Fear makes strangers of people who would be friends.-MacLaine

Please take a minute to view the link to the right.  All you have to do is view and rate a video…no personal information needs to be left, and no, you won’t be spammed.  Sprint is donating money for cancer research for every click…won’t you do your part?  Thanks–Miss Chris

So tired…the stress of everything going on in my life lately has been giving me nightmares.  I woke up at 4AM-ish after dreaming that my property manager had cancelled my lease and couldn’t get back to sleep.  So now I’ve been being bad and indulging in caffiene to try and make it through the night at work…but I’ve got some new goodies to let you all know about!  See below…

Single and loving it?

This Thursday from 7-8:45PM, the Middle Country Public Library has a different kind of singles event. Instead of speed dating or some kind of single-mingle sort of thing, the MCPL is having a “Singles Fair” where various groups and organizations will be at their Centereach location to create awareness about things you can do without a date…like hiking, sailing, kayaking and so on.  This event is FREE, and I did meet a very nice (and decidedly not creepy) gentleman who is going to be there while I was in a class at MCPL earlier today…if he’s any indication of the calibre of people who will be at this event, this really should be worth attending.  (If you have ever tried dating sites to meet someone, you know the creepy factor can be pretty high…)

What hump?

Speaking of creepy things, Igor has to be one of the most beloved of creepy characters. The Town of Huntington is pleased to announce the FREE movie line up for summer 2009. Mark your calendars and get ready to pack up the family, blankets, lawn chairs and picnic supper and enjoy the movie! On Monday, June 29th, there will be a lawn performance at Dix Hills Park (by the pool) of “IGOR” (rated PG).

Now I usually don’t post cover bands on here, but this FREE show will be at Shorefront Park in Patchogue on Friday from 6-9PM and will be featuring my friend Donny (aka Captain Don and the Toucan Band).  If you like the Beatles and Buffet, bring your lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy what is shaping up to be a beautiful weekend by the bay.

On Saturday, there will be an Irish Night Concert (also FREE) at Brady Park in Massapequa Park. Enjoy an evening of Irish entertainment, with live traditional Irish music, homemade Irish soda bread, and giftware and refreshments will also be available.

Also on Saturday, the Baiting Hollow Farm Winery will be playing host to another buddy of mine (Jay) and his band Smoking Gun.  Enjoy a bit of the grape with some blues this weekend!

All for now, you kooky cats!  Have something that should be here?  Let me know at cheapdateli@gmail.com!  Don’t forget to scroll down for more great things to do this weekend as this was just an add on!
