There is nothing new under the sun but there are lots of old things we don’t know.-Bierce

July 6, 2009

nablo09.90x33It’s amazing to me how many things we pass by each day, while we remain completely oblivious to everything around us.  I wish I had more hours in every day…it’s not just about trying to get more things done (though that would be a perk), but I see so many places and things I’d like to check out just driving from one place to another.  Ice cream parlors, farmers’ markets, street fairs, the list goes on.  Hence, I live vicariously through you–my readers.  I love getting feedback when you check out something I’ve posted here!  Keep it coming!

Eat your vegetables…

funny-pictures-rabbit-sticks-his-tongue-outAnyone who knows me is aware of my obsession with farm stands.  I love the taste of garden fresh veggies as compared to store bought, and really, isn’t it kind of a fun date to go picking out veggies with your honey, then going home and opening a bottle of wine and cooking dinner together?  Let’s not forget, many also carry home-baked items as well!  Click here to view the most current list from Cornell Cooperative Extension! And by patronizing these businesses, you’re helping support local agriculture!

Of course, if you’d rather pick your own, you can do that too! Here’s the 2009 list of pick-your-own farms!

Rock me gently
